Communications Director

We are seeking a dynamic Communications Director to join our nonprofit team. As the Communications Director, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission by overseeing both internal and external communications, marketing strategies, social media presence, campaign collaboration efforts, among other things. This position reports directly to the Operations Director and involves close collaboration with the Executive Director and Development Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans to effectively reach and engage our audience, utilizing both traditional and digital media platforms.
2. Lead the creation, editing, and production of various communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media content, and marketing collateral.
3. Manage the organization's website, online publications, and social media channels to ensure up-to-date and engaging content.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate marketing campaigns and initiatives that align with organizational goals and objectives.
5. Cultivate relationships with media outlets, partners, and community organizations to amplify the organization's message and visibility.
6. Provide marketing support to internal teams, including the Board of Directors, Staff, and Ambassadors, to promote programs and services effectively.
7. Develop and implement marketing strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporate sponsors, and foundations in collaboration with the Development Director.
8. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the organization.

Preferred Qualities:

1. Degree in marketing, communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
3. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications and marketing strategies.
4. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
6. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
7. Experience with website management, newsletter production, and graphic design software.
