Medical Biller

Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Pay: up to $25/hour

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Location: Remote

Responsibilities:

1. Claim Processing: Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers in accordance with billing guidelines and regulations.
2. Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to determine coverage levels and patient responsibility.
3. Billing Inquiries: Respond to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding claim status, denials, and appeals.
4. Payment Posting: Post payments received from insurance companies, patients, and other payers accurately and promptly to patient accounts.
5. Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims and denied claims, resubmitting claims as necessary to ensure timely reimbursement.
6. Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all billing and coding activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Medical Biller in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and claim processing.
• Knowledge of insurance billing procedures, payer policies, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
