Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are expanding our Safety Department and need an experienced Safety Specialist to assist with specific client sites in Tennessee. Assist the Safety Manager in facilitating an injury and incident-free workplace by evaluating, monitoring, accounting for, and assisting with all aspects of occupational safety programs and site safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct periodic inspections of facilities and vehicles for safety compliance
  • Conduct job site safety inspections
  • Conduct worksite risk assessments, identifying and controlling potential hazards
  • Investigate safety incidents as they arise
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, IMSHA, EM-385
  • Performs other related duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work alone.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess good mechanical knowledge of the use of trade tools and equipment.
  • Must provide quality customer service.
  • Must be able to travel out of town for extended periods of time.
  • Must continuously adhere to Company’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.
  • Must have and maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Occupational Health and Safety Degree (preferred)
  • 2+ years experience in construction safety role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at heights above 10 feet.
  • Must be able to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push and pull.
  • Must be able to work in extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels.
