Production Supervisor - 2nd shift

Position Purpose:

Responsible for providing hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor by training, monitoring, and evaluating assigned personnel and actively leading the selection, sortation, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company culture, service, and cost objectives.

Essential Functions

• Ensure all employees are trained and developed to meet safety and productivity standards.
• Communicate, coordinate, and support all policies and procedures within the warehouse and company.
• Manage team of hourly direct reports in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Determine staffing levels for production.
• Manage team members' time off requests, edit/approve timecards using ADP, and report payroll data to management and payroll admin on a bi-weekly basis.
• Continuously maintain and update attendance records and notices for/to employees using our warehouse attendance policy and ADP.
• Maintain open communication to Human Resources and Leadership, communicating all necessary information in a timely manner.
• Ensure target levels of efficiency in assigned business unit by meeting or exceeding productivity standards and cost control management.
• Production data entry; Communication of results vs. standards via production reports.
• Proactively review practices for accuracy, quality, and process flow along with timeliness.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste and maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment.
• Responsible for the development of team leaders to ensure personal growth and career development.
• Provide feedback to all team members via coaching, performance reviews, and progressive discipline.
• Any additional task assigned by manager; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Required Experience / Skills:

• Previous successful leadership experience
• Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient understanding of production environment: workflow, goals, etc.
• Ability and willingness to be available for all shifts when needed, providing a connection/liaison to all supervision and teams

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of distribution or warehouse processes or systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products

Additional Information

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday; start time: 4:30pm*; Expected hours per week: 45 +/-; Minimal weekend work is expected. (*Production Supervisor and Transportation Manager rotate Friday evening coverage.)

Physical Demands: The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Working Conditions: The physical environment requires the employee to work in a warehouse facility with concrete floors. Ambient temperatures in typical workspace may be ~70˚F, 34˚F in the Cooler, 0˚F in the Freezer, and -10˚F in the Ice Cream Freezer. May be requested to work overtime / Saturdays as needed.

Travel: Limited travel for offsite meetings/industry shows may be required for this position.
