JOB TITLE:  Accounting Manager

REPORTS TO:  Controller

SUMMARY:       

Aligned is searching for an Accounting Manager to support the finance and accounting organization in both the US and Internationally.  The Accounting Manager will apply technical expertise and team collaborative skills in order to fulfil accounting objectives in support of the entire Aligned platform and associated data services. This support includes, but is not limited to: transactional accounting, financial close accounting, reporting and analytics, and accounting support system maintenance and administration.  This role will be a member of the Finance and Accounting organization, but also collaborate with multiple internal Aligned key stakeholders. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs transactional accounting functions across all areas including but not limited to: fixed assets, prepaid and deferred accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Performs accounting function for and / or reviews operational accounting support transactions such as expense reports, check requests, and purchase requisitions
  • Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
  • Prepares and validates recurring reporting requirements such as monthly tax returns, internal management reporting, or external loan reporting.
  • Leads annual external audit.
  • Analyzes and reconciles and / or reviews reconciliation of general ledger accounts with assigned ownership which may include amortizable accounts including prepaid or deferred balance accounts and / or fixed asset accounts.
  • Coordinates and performs assigned accounting control procedures and assists with designing and implementing improvement objectives. 
  • Assists with related special projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Masters Accounting degree from accredited university.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.  
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, utilization and amortization figures, and percentages.  
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

STRONGLY PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Financial audit experience (SOX exposure strongly preferred)
  • International accounting experience, or experience with source currency translation accounting
  • Experience with ERP accounting system (Netsuite, Oracle, Workday, SAP, or other)
