Content Creator

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is looking for a talented and like-minded Content Creator to join our internal social team and help us continue to hone and expand stories around flavor and our community. They will also find fun, engaging, and authentic ways to bring our ice creams to life and to connect with our customers across all owned media channels. This person will have a knack for finding stories and the know-how to bring them to life through videos, photos, or a well-timed meme. The ideal candidate is scrappy, open-minded, creative, collaborative, and understands the best practices when it comes to social (but is just fine with breaking more than a few rules). The creator will be responsible for developing, ideating, and executing content across platforms, as well as working with our internal creative team.

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Content Creator & Community Manager, you will plan and develop storytelling content across all Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams owned social channels, primarily creating for TikTok and Instagram. You’ll work in tandem with our internal teams — including creative, marketing, shops, and R&D — to ensure content is spot-on and delivers on campaign objectives and project briefs. Success in this role requires the following:

• Creating content that is engaging, authentic, personal AND on-brand for Jeni’s

• Communicating in our brand’s voice with a deep passion and understanding for Jeni’s

• Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends, best practices, and technologies

• An in-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and their features (most notably, TikTok)

• Hands-on experience and expertise with social media platforms

• Adobe photoshop experience appreciated, but not required

• Strong examples showcasing multimedia content creation (TikTok preferred)

• Experience in content creation, proofreading, and video editing

• Creating and curating engaging content for TikTok including copywriting, hashtags, images, and videos

• Basic videography/photography skills for capturing high-quality visuals for posts

• Engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages in a timely manner

• Knowledge of how to mine social platforms for opportunities to engage with existing and potential customers

• Knowledge of relationship management techniques to foster engagement with followers and influencers

• Assist the Social Media Manager in social content ideation and strategy

• Ability to travel for special events, including capturing LIVE social media content and producing on-the-fly content (visual and copy) for live events

• Ability to visit scoop shops to gather content as needed

• Collaborative team player who can take constructive feedback on their work and adjust accordingly

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in marketing, advertising, social media, or related field

• 1-3 years of experience developing and executing social media content across platforms, including TikTok

• The ability to develop big ideas and bring them to fruition

• A deep understanding of social media platforms, including their respective strengths and weaknesses (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, etc.)

• The ability to execute tactical and strategic direction with independent judgment

• A high level of critical thinking ability and curiosity

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Design fluency coupled with excellent typography and visual design sensibilities

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and efficiently

• An interest in social and cultural trends and fashions
