Job Description

Komline-FluidQuip is looking for a dynamic accounting and finance professional to join our team as our Controller. The successful person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is interested in being a part of a growing company.  Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller of Group with dotted line reporting responsibility into local Komline-FluidQuip management, the Controller will direct the company's accounting while implementing internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.  She/he will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and banking activities over two locations within Springfield, OH.

 

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Manage all the daily aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, tax compliance, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, activity reports, financial and cash flow forecasts.
  • Lead the accounting team in ongoing initiatives to shorten the monthly close cycle.
  • Prepare reports and provide analysis to drive the Company’s efforts to optimize working capital management.
  • Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of percentage of completion (“POC”) accounting schedules for inclusion in monthly financial statements and for delivery to Group.
  • Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Collaborate with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit. Responsible for completion of the audit in compliance with GAAP, with additional focus on minimizing adjustments and limiting internal control comments.
  • Manage all banking activities for the Company.
  • Enthusiastically take on special projects and ad hoc reporting requirements of the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Set a high standard for the finance function and each of its processes and implement best practice process and systems in key accounting functions.
  • Develop a culture of service, performance, and continuous improvement. Promote and reward initiative and teamwork.

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent “hands on” accounting skills including a strong knowledge of cost accounting.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; proven experience in a fast-paced PE-backed or similar environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred).

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • CPA designation highly preferred.
  • 8 years or more of related accounting and team leadership experience required; Big 4 background preferred.
  • Meaningful percentage of completion accounting experience is a plus, preferably in a manufacturing or project related environment.
  • Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a manufacturing company is required.
