Kitchen/Prep Cook

Howser Tavern will be opening in downtown Frankfort late September! Named for the historic Howser Cafe and located in the same building on St. Clair Street, Howser Tavern is a high end bourbon bar with a light food menu of charcuterie and sandwiches. Bar offerings will include many bourbons, wine, beer and craft cocktails.

Employment Type: Full Time or Part Time

Compensation/Salary: $13-$16/Hour

Howser Tavern is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Kitchen/Prep Cook. Must be 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service to all guests by following the Steps of Service.
• Proficient in multitasking, general math skills and communication skills.
• Fulfills running side work, opening and closing checklists.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of our food and beverages. Makes recommendations and is flexible with guest requests.
• Adheres to company/state standards for serving alcoholic beverages. Checks IDs and mixes drinks according to recipes/specs to ensure guests are not overserved.
• Assists in tasks to ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe work environment.
• Maintains a positive attitude during stressful situations.
• Communicate and work with team members/management to deliver a great guest experience.
• Promotes teamwork in the workplace.
• Knowledge of classic cocktails. Responsible for adhering to recipes to manage inventory.
