Procurement Specialist (buyer/purchasing exp. req.) Description

Our client, a forward-thinking automotive services business, is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Portland, OR. In this position, you will be responsible for procuring high-quality automotive parts and components while effectively navigating supplier relationships. They’re looking for someone who prides themselves on their ability to be collaborative and build cohesion across different business segments while ultimately holding their vendors accountable. Someone who can be that data storyteller and uses KPIs to make more strategic decisions that lessen lead times, excess inventory, and costs. Procurement Specialist (buyer/purchasing exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with suppliers
• Work with vendors to optimize pricing, delivery schedules, and product quality
• Evaluate schedules and inventory to accurately forecast demand for parts
• Minimize lead times, excess inventory, and procurement costs
• Implement quality control measures and address any quality issues promptly
• Anticipate and proactively address supply chain disruptions or delays
• Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings and performance enhancement
• Monitor vendor performance, track deliveries, and coordinate with internal teams
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment and usher buy-in
• Implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency

Procurement Specialist (buyer/purchasing exp. req.) Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing experience required
• 3+ years of purchasing experience required
• Well-versed in managing and negotiating with suppliers required
• Able to work onsite daily required
