We are seeking a skilled and experienced Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to join our team. As a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining horizontal directional drilling machines and ensuring the safe and efficient installation of underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate horizontal directional drilling machines to drill pipelines ranging from 2" diameter to 20" diameter
- Possess in-depth knowledge of horizontal directional drills and their operations
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during drilling operations
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in identifying and locating underground utilities
- Produce daily results and meet project deadlines
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Operate mini excavators and perform various tasks such as spotting lines and welding plastic pipe
- Drive trucks and trailers to transport equipment and materials
- Fuse plastic pipe and perform related tasks as required
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth project execution

- Be a team player and understand the job has to get done, so you will do more than just drill, when needed

Requirements:

- Must live in the area and/or be able to get yourself to and from work daily

- Must have a valid driver's license

- Must be willing to train in our online, Operator Qualification (OQ) Program, on your own time, to meet federal regulations for being an underground utility provider

- Proven experience as a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator
- Strong knowledge of horizontal directional drills and their operations
- Expertise in operating and maintaining drilling equipment
- Thorough understanding of underground utilities and their identification
- Proficiency in driving trucks and trailers
- Ability to operate mini excavators and perform related tasks
- Skilled in welding plastic pipe
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- There are times when we have to work Saturdays and overtime. This is a requirement of the job

- Must be able to do heavy lifting
