Job Description

*This is a HYBRID opportunity that requires you to work onsite two days per week in Irvine, CA

The Senior Contract Administrator/Contracts Manager will report directly to the Director of Contracts and will be responsible for providing support to internal and external customers in the day-to-day administration of company contracts and subcontract agreements. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer/contract specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Department of Defense prime contracts and subcontracts from start to finish ("cradle-to-grave"), including negotiating contracts, advising management, and overseeing contract implementation to maximize efficiency. Additionally, strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision are essential qualities for success in this role.

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Experience administering various types of contracts, including Cost-Reimbursable, Time and Material, Firm-Fixed-Price, and Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contracts with the U.S. Government, Department of Defense, particularly in research and development and production environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting policies, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions to minimize risk and prepare analyses to support negotiation positions aligned with business goals.
  • Build effective internal and external relationships, representing DZYNE and liaising with customer contractual representatives.
  • Manage established contracts, including negotiating changes, modifications, and monitoring performance to meet client and company expectations.
  • Define contract requirements and monitor performance, providing summaries to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and customer concerns.
  • Ensure contractual compliance with laws, regulations, and approval requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze price proposals, conduct proposal preparation, and support audits as necessary.
  • Plan and participate in contract practices training within the company.
  • Interact with Program Managers and internal stakeholders to support contractual needs and compliance.
  • Resolve complex contractual and customer issues.
  • Support program subcontracting and consultant needs, adhering to company and federal purchasing policies.
  • Monitor contracts and manage close-out, extension, or renewal as required.
  • Familiarity with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) and subcontractor proposal analyses.
  • Process and negotiate Non-Disclosure and Teaming Agreements.
  • Analyze financial reports and technical documents for contractual compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills, prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail to identify contractual inconsistencies and interpret requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet project objectives within designated timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
  • NCMA Certified Contracts Management Professional (CPCM) or equivalent certification.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-12 years of federal contract administration experience.
