CAD - Support Drafting Engineer - Austin $25/hr

Onsite in South Austin - Not a remote role

This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more experienced colleagues, team lead, supervisor, and/or manager. This position focuses on engineering support and some drafting duties. These duties are a combination of the following:
• Provides support to the engineering teams by organizing materials and creating new folder structures for projects.
• Manages the SharePoint site and coordinates material deliveries for engineering partners.
• Organizes materials received, reviews, uploads and properly archives these materials in our EDMS following existing protocols and procedures to avoid overwriting current work.
• Organizes materials to be delivered to other groups within LCRA and external partners/customers. 
• Helps issue “For Construction” documents and drawings.
• Updates drawings based on field edits.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, construction drawings and other technical information.
• Assists in drafting drawings using established procedures, formats, and templates.
• Assists with office research related to field measurements, historical engineering drawings, equipment databases, microfilm, inventory, electronic document management system (EDMS) records and other technical records to design equipment and layouts.
• Performs data entry in the departmental engineering database.
• Operates equipment, such as plotters, printers, copiers and scanners.
