JOB SUMMARY
Position Title: Food Pantry Coordinator
Program: Crispus Attucks Community Center
Classification: Permanent/Full-Time/Salary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
- Pantry operations: coordinate the day-to-day operations of choice pantry and our hot lunch program, including but limited to inventory management, ordering food, coordinating food donations, and organizing food deliveries. Oversee the distribution of food items to clients, ensuring equitable access and adherence to program guidelines. Implement efficient systems for tracking pantry inventory, including data entry and reporting as required.
- Volunteer management: recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support the operations of the Center’s food distribution programs. Implement recognition strategies to acknowledge and appreciate volunteers’ contributions, as well as develop strategies to enhance recruitment and retention. Manage the Center’s volunteer infrastructure and operations.
- Participant experience: ensure that participants accessing food resources have a positive and dignified experience by providing personalized assistance and support tailored to their individual needs, fostering a welcoming environment that promotes a sense of dignity and empowerment.
- Quality assurance: Maintain quality standards for food items distributed, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Utilize data analysis techniques to monitor successes, identify trends, and proactively address any issues or challenges, ensuring the continued improvement and effectiveness of food distribution programs. Lead other food distribution efforts and programs as need indicates.
- Data and technology management: Coordinate appointments and scheduling for pantry services. Perform accurate and efficient data entry and management ranging from pantry participants to ordering food to maintaining volunteer information, etc. Utilize technology proficiently, including computer systems and web-based programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, including social work, nutrition, public health, family studies, and/or the equivalent education and experience within the sector.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights and weekends based on clients’/programming needs.
- Organized: you manage tasks well and know what needs attention first. You focus on the little details, making sure things run smoothly. You are resourceful, make the most of what is available, and are proactive in finding ways to improve efficiency.
