Summary: Pours all juices, beverages and supplemental feedings; portions desserts and salads as assigned. Sets up tray line with all necessary items except hot foods. Serves special meals and other social occasions. Responsible for all aspects of dish washing, mopping, stocking shelves in the refrigerators, dry food storage, chemical and paper storage rooms, and trash removal. Keeps work area clean.

Essential Functions:

1. Serves residents in Dining Rooms and compiles tray and delivers to resident apartments.
2. Serves and sets up trays for Health Care Center food cart.
3. Wraps silverware.
4. Makes tea and coffee.
5. Pours juices and beverages for meals and snacks.
6. Gathers supplemental feedings and delivers to Nurses’ Station.
7. Serves late or “hold” trays.
8. Sets up for and cleans up after special occasions.
9. Assists Cook in meal preparation if needed.
10. Cleans tray line after each meal.
11. Takes trays to dish room. Breaks trays down for dishwashing. Cleans area.
12. Scrapes plates and washes them using a mechanical dishwashing machine.
13. Cleans work area such as carts, toasters, hot food tables, coffee urn, dining room tables, carpet and refrigerator in work area.
14. Considers likes and dislikes of patient or resident.
15. Is courteous to residents at all times.
16. Sweeps area and mops floors.
17. Gathers and removes trash and boxes.
18. Shelves stock (food, paper and chemicals) as directed.
19. Performs any related duties that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department.
