Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team and oversee operations at one of our unionized facilities located in metro Mobile, AL. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively collaborate with managers, drive employee development initiatives, and uphold the values and culture of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers to fill new and existing positions and devise development plans for employees, particularly high-potential individuals.
  • Articulate and reinforce the values and culture of the organization, proposing HR activities that align with these principles.
  • Administer affirmative action and other employee relations programs to ensure compliance and foster a positive work environment.
  • Lead and motivate staff, conducting performance reviews, nurturing employee skills, and supporting professional growth to maximize departmental contributions.
  • Offer expertise in HR compliance, employment law, succession planning, employee retention, leadership development, performance management, team building, and employee relations.
  • Coach and develop HR staff, fostering strong and engaged teams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree* in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Business Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments, with a strong preference for experience in OFCCP regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in HR compliance, including employment law knowledge, succession planning, employee retention, organizational capability, leadership development, performance management, team building, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop HR staff, fostering strong and engaged teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
  • Mandatory experience with labor unions.
