Job Description
​ Executive Summary

Common Impact has built the leading model for corporate skills-based volunteering, connecting talented professionals from global companies to high-potential nonprofits. This role will be responsible for supporting the baseline business development operations driving this expansion, including lead generation, pipeline management, drafting initial proposals and related materials, ensuring that our materials and processes stay up to date as we move through various campaigns. Working in close partnership with Common Impact’s Senior Manager of Partnerships, and its marketing team, the Business Development Consultant will be a key support for the Partnerships team. Together, we’ll drive implementation of a thought leadership and business development plan designed to expand the presence and revenue base of our corporate SBV programs.

This position is a good fit for a consultant with a strong aptitude for building and managing business development systems and processes, a growing mastery of client relationship building, proactive and creative approach to problem solving, and an uncompromising relationship with details and organization. The successful candidate will have a proven record of successfully tracking a wide range of simultaneous revenue-generating projects; will understand how to engage and activate individuals with widely varying backgrounds, experience and goals; and will bring levity and fun to a team of hard-working, ambitious nonprofit professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients in the field of corporate social responsibility, social impact, and employee engagement
  • Prospect and send personalized and auto-generated emails to potential clients to introduce our program models and services and initiate business discussions.
  • Draft compelling prospecting language that aligns with Common Impact's marketing strategy and messaging guidelines and reflects the target audience's strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients through ongoing communication and timely follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Partnerships Manager to Develop proposals, budgets and contracts for clients:
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials, presentations, and sales collateral.
  • Track and manage leads using Salesforce CRM, report on pipeline development and revenue forecasts. Common Impact has strong business development, CRM and technology systems in place. We need a knowledgeable and driven process wrangler to ensure we make efficient use of these assets to capture and drive value.

    • Collaborative skills to work in partnership to develop proposals, budgets, contracts.
    • Ability to translate client requirements into compelling proposals.
  • CRM Management:
    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
    • Attention to detail to track leads, manage data accurately.

Compensation and Benefits

The is a part-time position with an average of 5-15 hours per week. The compensation for this position will be $55 per hour commensurate with experience.
