Summary:

The Director of Strategic Growth is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and winning new business for the organization. The Director of Strategic Growth will lead a team of BD professionals to develop and implement a standardized growth strategy inside target markets. The Director is responsible for overseeing the business development process and engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders across the organization. The Director leads, develops, maintains, and pursues a pipeline of opportunities for growth and expansion within targeted vertical markets. In addition, the Director will provide strategic direction to SiloSmashers vertical market leaders in the growth and expansion of SiloSmashers current vertical markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business Development process and Business Development team in the pursuit of growth and expansion in current and new target markets
  • Conduct market research and segmentation to analyze current and new markets to include competitive analysis and pursuit strategies
  • Represent the company at government and industry networking events
  • Establish client relationships within the Federal Government, and within partner companies
  • Participate in speaking and industry engagements including conferences, communities of interest, professional associations, etc.
  • Anticipate opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector, and adjacent market sectors
  • Collaborate with Vertical Market Directors for industry knowledge, research, opportunity identification
  • Develop profiles of potential pursuits and formulate client contact strategies to include meetings, industry association involvement, white papers, capabilities statements, etc. to establish positive relationships with potential clients.
  • Develop and lead an IDIQ/GWAC pursuit strategy.
  • Manages SiloSmashers GSA Schedules, including the pursuit of new SINs / NAICS
  • Lead efforts to pursue and capture targeted government contracts and task orders either as a prime or subcontractor
  • Lead the overall identification and pursuit process to include teaming, win strategies, and the bid decision process.
  • Manage pursuit efforts and proposal managers in pre and post RFP release proposal development activities, ensuring proposal submissions are compliant and responsive.
  • Develop and approve significant pursuits and provide oversight of capture plans that conform to the customer unit's development strategy and technical capabilities
  • Identifies and develops relationships with industry partners for strategic growth
  • Establishes and manages Non-Disclosure Agreements with industry partners in pursuit of new business
  • Oversee the proposal management and development process, working with vertical market and SME teams to deliver quality proposals on time
  • Serves as Proposal Manager for SiloSmashers proposals, including the management of proposal schedule and development of a proposal outline.
  • Develop and maintain compliance matrixes to ensure proposals are compliant with government requirements
  • Communicate and collaborate with Recruitment and Finance teams to obtain relevant information for proposal responses
  • Participate in proposal writing and review activities across the organization
  • Oversees and manages a business development budget for strategic growth and positioning.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Demonstrated 10 years' experience conducting business development for professional services in the federal government
  • Knowledge and understanding of government business development and sales methodologies, such as Shipley
  • Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth
  • Experience leading opportunity captures, including: developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies, identifying and closing with teammates; understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price
  • Experience in writing proposals in response to federal solicitations
  • Experience in preparing resumes, past performance statements, writing technical proposals, and preparing relevant proposal sections
  • Ability to take input from multiple sources, work with technical teams to resolve differences, and write technical applications in one voice
  • Exceptional facilitation, editing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Effective in working with others to obtain content, review materials, etc.
  • Skilled at prioritizing work and adept at handling pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in the following software programs is necessary for this role:
    • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Internet Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
    • Customer relationship management (CRM) software
    • Business Intelligence tools such as Govwin, Sam.gov, USASpending.gov and FedConnect
