Electrical Controls Automation Panel Builder

Successful candidates will have foundational skills and experience building electrical panels or working in an electrical/technician position. Previous wiring and electrical knowledge is helpful (such as working on car radios, automating things at home, etc.) and knowing how to read electrical schematics is a must. Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD Electrical is preferred but not required. We are willing to train candidates who have worked with electrical panels.

Panel Builders are hourly paid, non-exempt positions reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing & Facilities. For candidates who quickly master panel building, there are opportunities for promotion into Field Technician positions, and eventually Integration Engineers. We do not require college degrees, although certifications in electronics and/or manufacturing are a strong plus.

A CLX Panel Builder is responsible for:

• Working with a variety of hand and power tools safely and proficiently
• Working efficiently with minimum but consistent supervision.
• Wiring panel devices according to provided electrical schematics. Candidate must be able to do this and/or pick up this skill quickly.
• Routing and bundling wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards.
• Checking work ensuring error-free products and consistent quality
• Keeping “red lines” of any changes required during manufacturing and turning them on project completions.
• Maintaining a neat, efficient, and safe workplace
• Providing most of their own tools necessary to perform the job function.

Required Skills for Success:

• An ability to follow both written and oral instructions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and AutoCAD drawings.
• Very good communication skills and an ability to work both independently and as a team.
• Dependable and able to anticipate problems and questions.
• Good driving record and ability to utilize own transportation for work.
• Work non-standard hours (nights and weekends) when projects demand.
• Willingness to perform and work both individually and as a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to travel locally and out of state with little or no notice (up to 15%). Travel isn't required very often but will become necessary if employees advance through the organization.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and any requirements from clients.
• Pass a background check and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background checks per client requirements.
