Summary: Provide loving, personalized bathing and spa services to our canine guests.


The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties to ensure our guests are Safe, Happy, & Healthy. This list is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Grooming & Bathing

  • Provide an overall positive experience for the pets as they are being groomed or bathed, including compassion, gentleness, reassurance, safety, and comfort.
  • Bathe, dry, and brush dogs checked in for lodging or as drop-offs.
  • Provide nail trims for all dogs scheduled for premium baths or grooming services.
  • Provide de-matting when appropriate as instructed by the groomer(s).
  • Provide fresh, clean water to all grooming dogs.
  • Offer potty breaks to grooming dogs as needed.
  • Report all pet health concerns to the Grooming Manager, Pet Care Manager, or Facility Manager as soon as possible.

(Human) Customer Service

  • Ensure client satisfaction by resolving any customer service issues within your capabilities. Involve the Grooming Manager, Facility Manager, or any other manager on staff if you are not able to help the customer to their satisfaction.

Cleaning & Organization

  • Clean and maintain the grooming room, including floors, walls, tubs, grooming tables, mats, and windows at the direction of Grooming Manager and with approved chemicals and cleaning implements.
  • Clean all cages in the grooming and drying area with disinfectant according to procedure.
  • Restock shampoos and other bathing supplies.

Other

  • Attend Grooming Department meetings and All Staff meetings.
  • Handle required paperwork.
  • Follow all company procedures.
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed on schedule and accurately.
  • Assist with other facility maintenance tasks and repairs as requested.

Requirements:

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six months to one year of experience caring for pets (either work experience or personal pet experience).

Computer Skills

  • Basic skills - able to use Gingr and Microsoft Office/Google Drive software proficiently


Certificates & Licenses:

  • PackPro Group Management, Dog Body Language and Customer Service Basics
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid
  • Access and training will be provided upon starting employment

Physical Requirements

Majority of time is spent standing, walking and bending. Must be able to:

  • Physically manage and safely handle large dogs.
  • Lift 50-75 lbs
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a task or project.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow the direction of supervisors and managers; demonstrates respect for authority.
  • Ability to use common sense and safe judgment when performing duties.
  • Willingness to ask for help when needed, especially in understanding a duty of task.
  • Must be able to tolerate a wet and/or moist environment for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
