Senior Electronics Engineering Technician

GEOKON is a leading manufacturer of geotechnical instrumentation and data acquisition systems used in civil and mining infrastructure projects around the world.

GEOKON is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electronics Technician with a foundational knowledge of electronics, including sensors, instrumentation, digital and analog circuitry, and digital communications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for electronics and a keen eye for detail, especially in testing, experimentation, and reporting. Experience with production processes and wireless communications will be considered an asset

Key Responsibilities:

• Prototyping: Conduct prototyping and production feasibility studies to support the development of new products.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues.
• Design, build, and document test fixtures, cables, and wiring harnesses for efficient testing processes.
• Testing: Perform rigorous hardware, firmware, and software testing to meet and exceed quality standards.
• Internal Support: Provide technical assistance and documentation for production teams to ensure smooth manufacturing processes.

Key Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of technical work experience in electronics.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electronic schematics and datasheets.
• Hands-on experience with electronic circuit prototyping and soldering.
• Competent in using test and measurement equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other utility software.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with production processes.

· Experience with serial and wireless communications and data acquisition.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

· Proactive in identifying issues and proposing innovative solutions.
