Qualifications for a Respiratory Therapist:

• Possess a minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, OR completion of one of the NBRC education requirements.
• BLS Certification required.
• Active NBRC RRT credential and active licensure by NJ Board of Respiratory Care.
• Prior Respiratory Care experience is preferred, but not required.
• CLS / PALS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities for a Respiratory Therapist:

• Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory disorders, including asthma, COPD, and pneumonia.
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and bedside spirometry.
