We're seeking a talented individual for a full-time Tax Manager. This role will be integral to the tax department, directly engaging with clients across various sectors, including individuals, businesses, non-profits, trusts, and more.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
· Engage with clients to gather necessary documentation and address inquiries.
· Identify tax issues and develop effective solutions.
· Offer innovative tax planning strategies and review complex income tax returns.
· Provide supervision and guidance to tax team members, ensuring accurate completion of returns.
· Stay updated on legislative and regulatory tax developments, communicating implications to management and the team.
· Prepare and review technical tax memoranda.
· Liaise with tax authorities to resolve notices.
· Implement and maintain effective control procedures throughout the tax process.
· Train and mentor staff on procedures and policies
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· 5 to 8 years of experience in Public Accounting
· Proficiency in preparing individual and closely held business tax returns (S Corp and Partnership)
· Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and budgets.
· Proficient in accounting, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to professional growth.
· Willingness to collaborate within a team and handle administrative tasks as needed.
· Reliable transportation and ability to work in-person in the Raleigh or Charlotte office as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
· CPA License
· Experience with QuickBooks
· Familiarity with high net-worth individual and multi-state tax returns
· Experience in preparing exempt organization tax returns
· Previous experience managing a small team of employees
