Description:

The Emporium Lead is responsible for providing assistance to the staff and the program individuals at all three of The Arc's Micro Enterprises. Which include, The Cookie Factory, Emporium High End Thrift Store, and The Donation Station. The Lead will also provide supervisory support as directed by the manager or director. The Lead will adhere to the policies established by The Arc Eastern Connecticut, whose goal is to maintain full community inclusion and integration for all individuals who are supported by The Arc Eastern Connecticut.

Essential Functions:

  • Promotes empowering and engaged supports that models appropriate and mission-based interactions.
  • Assists with establishing goals and objectives for all Micro Enterprises.
  • Provides oversight to the daily workflow for all Micro Enterprises.
  • Ensures efficient operations and optimal customer experience.
  • Supports the manager and the director in ensuring that the health, safety, and wellbeing of the staff and individuals are maintained.
  • Assists with the opening and closing of store procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all POS transactions, cash drawer and deposit slips are accurate.
  • Assists with data entry, financial reports, evaluates performance against goals and implements improvements and changes as required.
  • Assists with Inventory control. Tracks sales, replacements, donations, and damaged goods.
  • Provides supervisory support in the absence of the director and the supervisors.
  • Ensures the safety of all individuals including the proper use of equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Reports all accidents and incidents immediately to the manager.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains neat, accurate, and comprehensive daily records including annual reviews, and service plans.
  • Ensures Department of Health Standards are met and maintained for all products.
  • Identifies and studies trends to gain advantages in the industry.
  • Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of The Arc Eastern Connecticut facilities and vehicles.
  • Assists in the upkeep of documentation.
  • Periodically reviews information and correctly files documents.
  • Other duties may be designated to maintain service quality.

  • Ensures confidentiality as required by law as well as The Arc policies and procedures which includes keeping records, conversations, correspondence (regarding program participants and staff) confidential.
  • Ensures the individuals experience valued roles in the community and enrich the individuals’ quality of life through training, instruction, and inclusion techniques.
  • Demonstrates a positive work ethic.
  • Is able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ensures confidentiality as required by HIPAA policies.
  • Has project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Advocates for and protects participants’ rights in accordance with The Arc policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a mature and positive attitude when dealing with The Arc colleagues, program participants, staff, families, the public and outside representatives.
  • Works with a spirit of cooperation with all departments.
  • Carries out all job responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Positively promotes the agency and its programs.
  • Attends all agency staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains attendance. Adheres to policies on attendance, days of absence, and illness.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity.
  • Maintains an organized and neat establishment.
  • Serves as a positive and appropriate role model for program individuals and other staff.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required or GED (General Equivalency Diploma.)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license for the duration of their employment. Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in Data Entry and/or Microsoft office: Word, Excel.
  • The Lead must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. The Lead will be required to participate in lifts, transfers, and behavioral physical intervention when necessary. The Lead may be exposed to risk of injury or exposure to occupational health hazards.


Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
