OVERVIEW

The Program Support Specialist (HR) will coordinate with USCRI’s HR team to perform administrative tasks and services supporting the Home Study and Post Release Services program from our Arlington offices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Support policy processes to ensure accuracy and completeness during implementation,
  • Retrieve, assemble, and compile information from electronic files in response to administrative requests or other inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required;
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strict adherence to timeframes, policy and procedure;
  • Impeccable attention to detail;
  • Covid-19 vaccination card is required;
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding work environment;
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills; ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation and ability to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Ability to effectively use technology with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect;
  • Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people;
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes past history of conviction of child and sexual abuse; and
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
  • Satisfactory completion of ORR required trainings upon hire and on an annual basis; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
