Job Description

Job Overview The Private Credit Associate will play a key role in supporting the investment team in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring private credit investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit markets, financial analysis, and investment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing: Assist in identifying new investment opportunities by conducting market research, attending industry events, and networking with market participants.
  • Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment.
  • Financial Modeling: Create and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and assess portfolio performance.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct credit analysis, including reviewing financial statements, assessing cash flow, and analyzing business risks.
  • Transaction Support: Assist in structuring, negotiating, and closing credit transactions, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor existing investments to ensure compliance with covenants, track financial performance, and report on portfolio risk.
  • Reporting: Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including portfolio managers, analysts, and legal advisors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. An MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in private credit, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform complex financial analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with financial modeling software is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Integrity: High ethical standards and integrity in all professional dealings.
