How you’ll get to help us do that

Assist with the excavation, grading, movement, and shaping of earth to prepare land for essential infrastructure, transportation, and vital services.

What you’ll get to do

• Prepare sites with a stable foundation for further construction, such as new schools, apartment buildings, roads, subdivisions, infrastructure rebuilds, and warehouses up to 50K sq ft
• Excavate earth by removing soil for the placement of utility lines
• Shape and contour landscapes to sculpt for road construction, building sites, or outdoor spaces
• Establish proper drainage to direct water flow and prevent flooding or erosion
• While using hand tools on the job, get paid to learn how to operate heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, and dozers)
• Remain local, working in the greater Hartford area (within 1 hour of Ellington)
• Work alongside a highly-skilled team committed to keeping you safe and helping you succeed and grow

What you bring to the role

• You have a genuine motivation to witness daily physical changes and make an impact through hands-on efforts out in the fresh air
• You want to be a big part of the reason your team achieves success. Your "no issue can stop me" attitude empowers you to overcome challenges.
• You work with your head on a swivel, constantly looking out for the safety of your co-workers, and have the courage to speak out and halt work when conditions are not safe
• You have a strong sense of pride in your quality of work and constantly seek innovative ways to work smarter and make things more efficient
• You can switch tasks while maintaining focus and can adapt to changing demands
• You find immense satisfaction in working hard along side other people
• 2 years in the trades or in trade school

Even better (but not required) if you

• Have done construction labor specifically for site work and utility excavation
• Have basic mechanical knowledge and know how to fix stuff
• Have OSHA 10 certification
