LOCATION: LIHI Main Office- Seattle, WA 98144

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director

PAY RANGE: $27.00-$32.00 per hour

BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long term disability insurance and sick leave are available to employees. Employees accrue 116 hours of vacation during the first year and receive 11 paid holidays. (Prorated for part-time employees).

This is a great position for someone starting out in recruiting. Background in customer service and/or hiring processes a plus! The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is a fast growing organization with multiple job postings. The recruiting specialist works with hiring managers to determine their needs, posts open positions, evaluates resumes, and performs initial phone screening. This is an in-person role, working in the LIHI Main Office in Seattle’s International District.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize ADP to post and close down job postings
  • Review resumes and provide hiring managers with qualified applicants
  • Support hiring manager with phone screens
  • Research common job sites to provide hiring managers with information about salaries and recruiting landscapes for their open roles.
  • Meet with hiring managers to identify the skills and experience needed for each position
  • Find a variety of job fairs and posting opportunities to encourage a robust and diverse applicant pool
  • Post jobs and determine when to boost hard to fill positions
  • Provide hiring managers and onboarding specialists with weekly updates
  • Work with the HR coordinator to provide a seamless hiring process
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes as needed
  • Support HR projects and other projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience demonstrating skills transferable to this role
  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced high volume environment highly desirable
  • High attention to detail, ability to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to draft quality business communication; concise, free from errors, business-like tone
  • Ability to work successfully with a broad variety of individuals
  • Intermediate comfort level with computers and software systems
  • Commitment to equitable and inclusive employment practices
  • Commitment to confidentiality of candidate/employee information

The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) has a 30-year history and track record of owning and managing low-income housing; developing innovative solutions to homelessness; advocating for housing justice; providing supportive services; and operating hygiene services for homeless people at our Urban Rest Stops. LIHI staff have developed over 5,000 affordable housing units and manages over 3,000 units including rental housing, permanent supportive housing and transitional housing.
