Job Description

Seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant who provides expertise and ability to work well with others as a team player. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition to our family-oriented business who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

Patient Point of Care:

  • Observes, assesses, triages and addresses patient' and family needs according to protocol.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking thorough patient histories.
  • Provides quality patient care:
    • Obtains complete vital signs
    • Relays complete and proper reason for visit information to physician
    • Executes physicians’ orders as instructed.
    • Administers medication, give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
    • Performs and/or assists in procedures such as assisting physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
    • Gives aftercare instruction and discharge instructions to patients.
  • Documents all assessments, actions, care and treatment responses, and communications utilizing EMR, logs, and requisitions.
  • Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Testing
  • Communicate lab, radiology, and external results for patients to providers and schedule appropriate patient follow up care as needed.

Clinical Patient Care Workflow:

  • Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
  • Calls and communicates phone calls for upcoming visits and confirms visit status for ongoing patient care
  • Makes follow-up calls from the previous day(s) for patient results and other physician requested services.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
  • Cleans patient care rooms, Ensure cleanliness of offices and clinical environment.
  • Creates a welcoming environment and acts as a patient advocate.
  • Attends training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Must travel to other sites when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements and Recommendations:

  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical patient setting is Preferred.
  • Experience using an EHR system is very helpful.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
  • The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred.
  • Experience with ESCREEN and DOT Testing is preferred.
