Director of Facilities and Fleet

The Director of Facilities and Fleet is responsible for leading and managing Spurwink's facilities and fleet departments including supervising custodial, maintenance, and other management level staff is required. Oversight of both owned and leased properties and facilities including commercial office space, educational facilities, and residential treatment facilities. The Director will work closely with landlords, real estate agents, insurance companies, building inspectors, codes enforcement officers, property, facility and fleet management companies and other contractors and vendors as necessary to successfully manage the facilities and fleet.

DUTIES:

• Oversight and management of the work order system (currently Prism) to ensure identified maintenance and improvement issues are addressed in a timely manner. Communicate with the status of work orders and other projects as well as issues involving the fleet.
• Complete plans of correction resulting from various facilities inspections, including State Fire Marshall inspection. Ensure that the corrections are addressed within identified time frames.
• Inspect and evaluate the quality of work performed by property managers as well as other vendors and contractions. This will involve travel to Spurwink sites.
• Schedule and oversee the work of vendors to ensure that all facilities are maintained appropriately and at required intervals in areas pertaining to health and safety, including fire protection systems (sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, etc.) and intrusion detector and alarm systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience leading and managing the facilities and fleet departments of a large not-for-profit organization, including supervising custodial, maintenance, and other management level staff is required. Oversight of both owned and leased properties and facilities including commercial office space, educational facilities, and residential treatment facilities preferred. High school diploma required. College degree in related field and/or licensure and experience as a contractor or other trade preferred.
