Accounts Receivable Assistant
We are searching for a skilled Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Accounts Receivable Assistant will also work on providing quotations to prospective and existing clients. Starting pay $20/hour - and after achieving a successful probation of 3 months, with full proficiency on the job, pay may be increased to $25/hour. Note: This is not a remote position. Full time with a flexible work schedule which may involve weekends within the 40 hour week.
Objectives of this role
· Assist Accounts Receivable Manager with all day-to-day preparing, billing, and reporting tasks.
· Communicate discrepancies to Accounts Receivable Manager and management team.
· Identify slow-paying clients and point out delayed invoices from our providers.
· Strengthen and grow relationships with clients.
· Strong communication with potential clients.
· Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
· Works well in a team and alone.
· Ability to build good constructive relationships with internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
· Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
· Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure billing is up to date.
· Address all external customer inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
· Assists clients with invoicing and payment inquiries.
· Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing.
· Support Accounts Receivable Manager with tracking and resolving any billing issues that may arise.
· Reconcile payment discrepancies (such as, payment method, declined transactions, void & credits, and invoice description).
Required skills and qualifications
· Strong mathematical skills.
· Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
· Superb time management and being detail-oriented.
· Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel and other internet apps.
· Positive and pro-active work attitude.
· Strong communicator, both email and over the phone.
· Bright and flexible team player capable of working at a rapidly growing company in a fast-paced environment.
· Associates degree or equivalent.
· Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable).
· Experience in driving process improvement.
· Good communication.
· Effective negotiation skills.
