We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Oncology Assistant to join our dynamic team at Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing exceptional care to pets facing oncological challenges. While prior veterinary experience is desirable, we are open to training the right candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to learning and teamwork.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Acquiring history from clients
Restraining for IV catheter placement
Holding for chemo treatments
Assisting with diagnostics (xray, bloodwork, etc)
Call in medications to pharmacy
Client communications regarding status of pet and go over medications
Keep work stations well organized, clean, and stocked

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

High school diploma or GED required
Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
