Product Manager

The Product Manager for Primitives By Kathy® (PBK) collaborates with the CEO, Director of Product Development and Art Director, to produce and develop home décor and giftable merchandise for catalog collections and key account presentations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the CEO, Director of Product Development and Art Director, develop merchandise, which will include trend research and follow through, by means of communication of clear design direction to graphic design team and/or execution of graphic design.
• Responsible for contacting licensed and subcontracted artists to communicate to them the vision of the PBK line and guide them in the design ascetics to ensure they meet PBK’s expectations.

• Acts as a facilitator for product development projects for both internal and external customers by answering and or seeking answers to questions/concerns from vendors.
• Management of product life cycle from conception to sample approval to product presentation to Sales Team.
• Analyze sales data to drive new development and direction for future catalogs.
• Represent PBK professionally, responsibly, and passionately to all stakeholders

• Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned

Primary Skills and Competencies:

• Must be an expert in Adobe Creative Suite and proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word & Teams or similar applications. Knowledge of Trello or similar application is beneficial.
• Creativity: Understands design and recognizes fresh approaches to satisfying clients.
• Analytical Skills: Client need and trends are ever-evolving. Must be able to analyze trends, look at new data and keep with the times.
• Decision-Making Skills: Must be able to provide insight to help make decisions on final products based on timelines, aesthetic, production process and pricing.
• Production Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and proven ability to design and develop most efficiently and profitably.
• Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good communicator and able to demonstrate a positive, proactive, approach to situations and circumstances.
• Management Skills: Able to keep on schedule, and manage own time.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a creative field and 3 years of experience in the creative field or demonstrates success and 3 years of experience as a designer, art director or similar creative background.
• Experience: 2+ years of product development experience.
