Premier Needle Arts is a leading supplier of knitting, quilting, and crochet supplies sold directly to the consumer via catalogue and internet. This position works in the distribution center located in the Georgesville area of Columbus, Ohio. We are seeking a Leader to collaborate closely with the Manager of the Fabric Department.

WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE:
  • Experience in a high-volume distribution center, occupying a leadership role for two to three years
  • Knowledge of direct to customer distribution practices and procedures
  • Experience using computer database software (WMS and NetSuite) to monitor performance, troubleshoot exceptions, and maintain inventory
  • Strong communication skillscommunicating with team members and corporate counterparts
  • An ability to motivate and drive results in a diverse culture


FABRIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
  • Accurately laying different fabrics in multiple layers and multiple lengths
  • Cutting fabric in customer specific lengths using rotary blade cutter
  • Assembling fabric kits
  • Performing related duties, special projects, or functions as necessary or as assigned

Requirements

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
  • Bring a high degree of concentration and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate an ability to train and supervise ten (10) employees (on average)
  • Monitor workflow; ensuring backorders are kept to a minimum
  • Work with customer service to resolve problem orders in a timely manner
  • Track associate daily productivity and improve group performance
  • Manage and build relationships with Key Partners in other warehouse departments
  • Monitor and participate in daily email and Basecamp
  • Work overtime as necessary
  • Adapt to daily work related events


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Walking/standing continuously with moderate lifting; involves occasional stooping, forward bending, and crouching. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Capability of performing essential job functions in distribution center environment with high degree of noise, floor dust, and temperature extremes and fluctuation.
  • Use of hands, arms, and feet for minimal lifting; use of hands and arms overhead
  • Ability to hear directions; requires ability to visually observe essential job functions for accurate performance
