Senior Project Manager / Vice President of Construction
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing all phases of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee construction project from the office and in the field from initiation to completion.
2. Develop project schedules, plan budgets, and ensure compliance with construction safety and building regulations.
3. Supervise on-site personnel and subcontractors, interfacing with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients.
4. Manage the team, including hiring, training, and monitoring the performance of construction personnel.
5. Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
6. Approve project plans and designs, along with changes to material, budget adjustments, and contractor payments.
7. Assess and resolve any work conditions or equipment issues that may pose a risk to project timelines or safety.
8. Prepare and submit project estimates to clients.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field required.
2. Minimum of 15 years' experience in construction management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior management role in commercial construction.
3. Strong familiarity with construction management software Procore
4. Intermediate level with Excel for formulas
Skills
1. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to draw up contracts
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
4. High level of organization and attention to detail.
Physical and Supervisory Responsibilities
1. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
2. Physically, must be able to navigate the construction site and lift 40 pounds as needed.
