Job Description
The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the payroll and benefits administration for the organization. The Payroll & Benefits Manager oversees the ADP Workforce Now payroll systems, internal controls & records, and handles the day-to-day payroll and benefits processing operations and related accounting entries.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll & Benefits
- Process payroll accurately using ADP Workforce Now to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Manage Time & Attendance and Scheduling platform with support staff and supervisors while maintaining precise payroll records.
- Process new hires, employee changes, terminations and benefit administration (including but not limited to: Voluntary, COBRA, 401(k), Health, etc.).
- Ensure compliance and adhere to company’s policies relating to processing of wages and paid time off.
- Provide service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll and benefits, research and troubleshoot any/all inquiries.
- Coordinate resolution with Payroll & Benefit representatives, as well as insurance carriers, to address any inquiries and requests, on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain business controls, and audit trails, for all payroll & benefits transactions, I-9’s, garnishments, etc.
- Maintain control of company payroll files and personnel files with strict confidentiality.
- Manage unemployment insurance claims. Perform timely audits.
- Respond to employment verification requests.
- Manage employee leave in accordance with federal, state, local, and company policies (including but not limited to FMLA, PFL, DBL, ADA).
- Manage and maintain all Company insurance policies. Manage and maintain all Worker’s Compensation claims and OSHA logs.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Other Human Resources Functions
- Assist in leading and facilitating the management of employee relations issues, internal investigations, and prompt problem resolution
- Assist HR department with additional duties as needed in other classic HR functions, such as Recruitment, Training and Development, Legal and Compliance, etc.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years Payroll & Benefits experience
- Extreme ability to manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deadlines, efficiently.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Google Suite
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now systems is a must
- Ability to anticipate important timing needs that may impact the company’s payroll and benefits
- Strong working knowledge of payroll practices and labor & compliance guidelines
- Experience with report writing module, exporting/importing for monthly reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills, maintains confidentiality with a superior sense of ethics and fairness
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Proactive and capable of working as a member of a team, as well as independently
