Position Summary 

The Grant Impact Manager is a key full-time position. Reporting to the Project Director, the Grant Impact Manager, GEAR UP Opportunity will work closely with school district finance personnel, other PRI staff and community partners, to ensure student academic success.  This work will include analysis and triangulation of grant financial documents, student services documentation, and grant performance measures. As part of the GEAR UP Leadership Team, the Grant Impact Manager will assist in the communication and delivery of grant services, professional development for school-based staff, data collection, data analysis, and the documentation of services in the grant database.  By ensuring mutual accountability of results, the Grant Impact Manager will convene experts and partners to develop a management structure for school-based staff serving GEAR UP.  The position leads and operates with the goal that All Rural Students Succeed.   

  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of GEAR UP goals and objectives 
  • Work with Project Director, school staff and other development staff to ensure academic success and student achievement toward GEAR UP East Kentucky goals and objectives 
  • Analyze and process district reimbursements and grant financial documents, following standard operating procedures 
  • Provide training and professional development to school-based staff and other PRI staff 
  • Monitor student level data and make necessary adjustments to services and implementation plans as called for by ongoing data analysis 
  • Conduct academic case management audits 
  • Ensure timely collection and analysis of data and dissemination of results 
  • Regular attendance at Partners for Rural Impact meetings and trainings 
  • Manage appropriate portions of the GEAR UP federal budget and ensure that all expenditures are allowable and within the scope of work 
  • Plan and implement adjustments to GEAR UP services and activities as determined through ongoing data analysis 
  • Work closely with the GEAR UP team and PRI staff to braid services and knowledge of programs 
  • Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist and support in the attainment of our mission, All Rural Students Succeed 
     

Position Location & Schedule 

Position will be located in Mt. Vernon, KY requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week. 

 

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET with in-office, hybrid and/or remote work a possibility. Because of the nature of the responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and to the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours. 

 
 

Minimum Qualifications  

Education required to ensure success in this position: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred 

 

 

Experience required to ensure success in this position: 

  • Three years of experience working in rural schools and communities  
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and planning next steps  
  • Experience in college access and success best practices 

  

License, certification, or registration necessary: 

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background check 

 
 

Physical requirements: 

  • Ability to work in a high-energy office 
  • Ability to accurately communicate and exchange information with partners, stakeholders, and/or meeting participants 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer software programs 
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle 
  • Ability to travel independently by car and plane both locally and nationally 

 
 

Environmental conditions: 

  • Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities 
  • Periodic travel to meetings and events
