INDUSTRIAL SALES ENGINEER Pay rate range: $35-$40 per hour Temp to Hire
Responsible for maintaining and growing existing customer base in the motor protection, soft starters and motor control products space. You will be providing product information to customers, distributors and independent representatives, receiving and writing sales orders, and working with engineering on special applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but other duties may be assigned as needed:
- Consulting with customers to determine system operational requirements, responding to customer generated RFP, as well as requests by business development, and individual customer requests.
- Response to these requests would require proposal development including system overview, scope of work, bill of material, engineering services and project pricing. This individual will work closely with other sales team members, application engineering and the customer to ensure that the solutions proposed meet the customer’s objectives and expectations.
- Consistently and effectively identify new business opportunities, with the ability to pursue and close complex sales deals of significant scope and long-term potential
- Build relationships with decision-makers and understand the dynamics of the procurement process
- Know product features and applications as well as the ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
- Provide feedback on all quality and product design issues
- Attend trade shows to support sales effort, improve product visibility and obtain feedback on current product and market trends
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position, this is not a remote position
- General supervision will be provided. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively and take ownership of assigned projects in a fast paced environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
- Ability to work and contribute as an effective team player in a fast paced deadline driven environment
- Developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers of various technical abilities, including experience working with contractors, consultants and sales and production staff as required
- Ability to self-manage, multi-task and learn new skills quickly
- Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Office, the Internet, drafting experience a plus
- Able to analyze technical data in customer’s proposals
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering or other related engineering disciplines
· 2-5 years of applicable experience in Automation Field or Industrial Motor Sales Experience
