Job Description

WHY IS A DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS IMPORTANT TO GILDFORM?

As Gildform's Director of Operations, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering 100% custom, on-demand jewelry to customers around the world. You will inspire, develop, and drive your team to meet and exceed daily production goals while continuously seeking to improve and innovate the manufacturing process. Your team will be responsible for executing all production-related tasks from start to finish, and you'll play a key role in transforming our operation into a world-class, full-scale manufacturing facility.

 

Your expertise in Lean Six Sigma and Quick Response Manufacturing initiatives will help ensure every customer order is crafted to perfection while improving product quality and production efficiency.

 

Additionally, you will be responsible for updating and providing insights on Gildform's ERP / Manufacturing Execution Software, ensuring that all relevant manufacturing data is accurately captured and utilized to drive improvements and efficiency in our jewelry production process.

 

With your team, you'll drive innovation, maintain stable production, and shift resources as needed to achieve our goal of delivering exceptional, on-demand jewelry to customers around the world.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Grow, Train, Lead, organize and motivate our manufacturing team (5-20 FTE) to meet business goals and improve (quality, lead times, safety, and costs).
  • Develop and implement production strategies and plans to achieve production goals and objectives
  • Lead, manage and provide feedback to a team of production staff, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production process
  • Ensure that production processes comply with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Monitor and manage production performance, including output, efficiency, and quality, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply world-class manufacturing best practices to 100% custom, on-demand jewelry manufacturing.
  • Maintain and manage production equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and maintenance
  • Oversee the procurement and management of raw materials and supplies
  • Collaborate with the design, tech, and customer support teams to ensure smooth and efficient production operations

 

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Associate's degree in a related field (e.g. Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations) or Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar production or operations management role
  • Strong experience in lean manufacturing principles, six sigma methodologies, and process improvement techniques
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of 3D printing and automation technologies is a plus
  • Experience in the jewelry industry is a plus, but not required.
