Job Description

StaffSource is actively searching for an EDI Specialist to join our client's Corporate IT staff. The EDI Specialist will be responsible for managing the electronic data interchange processing and activities. This individual will maintain existing trading partner relationships and establish new trading partners. The EDI Specialist will modify existing maps, ERP application interfaces and develop new maps and ERP interfaces as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strong understanding of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) concepts and standards.
  • Responsible for development, testing and support of ANSI X12 documents, including, but not limited, 850, 855, 810, 856, 867, 845, 852, 940, 945, 997 as well as custom formats.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for EDI related inquiries and primary specialist for EDI processes as well as the technical point-of-contact with MSPs.
  • Understanding how to develop, manage, and support SQL databases utilized for EDI.
  • Managing and understanding current connections between multiple SaaS systems, SQL databases, and ERP systems to ensure EDI continued functionality.
  • Manage the current EDI documentation as well as, able to expand upon the existing infrastructure.
  • Work with customers, vendors, and co-workers to implement EDI. Collaborating with internal departments and external companies to develop and deliver a high level of support to our customers.
  • Responsible for implementations and EDI projects from start to finish. Exhibiting a strong sense of ownership and project management regarding the implementation of the projects.
  • Apply critical thinking to review, evaluate, design, and implement processes and procedures that result in accurate and automated processing of EDI data.
  • The ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot and resolve any of the issues related to EDI connectivity problems, mapping errors, and data transmissions. Manage existing trading partners and implement new trading partners.
  • Has ability to provide "on-call" support after hours.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ANSI X12 Knowledge
  • Setup and management of EDI communication systems, include AS2 and FTP.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and ability to write SQL.
  • Experience with SaaS management.
  • Experience with structured programming.
  • Experience with UNIX shell scripting.
  • Experience with BizLink, TIE Smart Bridge, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle J.D. Edwards, PERL a plus.
  • Experience with documentation management and knowledge bases.
  • Self-motivated and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus 5 years of relevant EDI programming or EDI analyst experience.
