Responsibilities
- Manage a group of structural designers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of projects
- Serve as lead engineer on projects, coordinating design efforts with other disciplines, permitting, and construction teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Provide civil/structural support for utility projects (E.g) transmission substations, including designing equipment supports, structures, upgrades, and conducting repairs and modifications as needed
- Prepare budgetary documents, establish budget allocations, and monitor appropriation status to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
- Offer engineering support for Maintenance activities
- Utilize software (E.g PSL CAD) to evaluate the capacity of structures for additional loads
Experience Required
- At least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in the energy or utility sector
- Previous experience working for an engineering/design firm or in-house for a major utility.
- Proficiency in structural design software and CAD tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Compensation: Up to $145,000 per year
