About the organization:

West Sixth Brewing is a craft brewery and taproom located in downtown Lexington, KY. We focus on producing the highest quality, fresh, delicious craft beer, and sharing it with others by distributing it to other restaurants and bars throughout Kentucky. We were the first brewery to can its beer in Kentucky, and distribute our products throughout the Commonwealth and across the river in Cincinnati, OH. We also operate a tap room at our production facility, located in the Bread Box at 501 West Sixth Street. West Sixth also operates satellite taproom locations that include our Frankfort, KY Farm location, Louisville, KY Nulu location and at the Box Park in Newport, KY.

Pay: $12.25/hour

Please note: This position does not have regular hours. Individuals are part of a pool of people who sign up for available shifts on a first come-first served basis on an online sign-up sheet. The number and timing of the shifts vary widely week-to-week. As such this is more ideal for a gig-type worker or a retired person looking to supplement income opportunistically.

Shifts: Primarily Monday through Friday either 8 am - 3:30 pm or 3:30 pm - ~10:30 pm but other hours are possible including weekends. The 3:30 pm shift (and any standalone shift) goes until the scheduled beer runs out which depends on volume and how the canning line performs.

Primary tasks:

• Anything related to packout operations on the canning line including erecting corrugate case trays or boxes, erecting and filling 12 pack cartons, boxing 12 and 19.2 oz canned beer, and palletizing.
• Mix pack assembly.
• General cleaning and sweeping with downtime.
• Occasional opportunities arise related to bottling, bottle labeling, or random tasks and these are generally mentioned in the sign up sheet.
