Patient Care Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Part-Time Administrative Assistant at our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative tasks within the assisted living industry, possess managerial and supervisory skills, be proficient in writing progress notes for patients, capable of producing MAR (Medication Administration Record) reports, and fluent in bilingual communication (English and Spanish).
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the facility management team, including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
- Patient Progress Notes: Record patient progress accurately and effectively. This includes documenting observations, interactions, and any changes in condition according to facility protocols.
- Managerial/Supervisory Tasks: Assist in supervisory duties as assigned, such as overseeing staff schedules, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures.
- MAR Report Writing: Compile and maintain accurate MAR reports, ensuring compliance with medication administration protocols and regulations.
- Bilingual Communication: Utilize bilingual skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff members who may require language assistance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in assisted living facilities or similar healthcare settings, with a focus on administrative tasks, patient care documentation, and managerial responsibilities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education or certification in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Managerial/Supervisory Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and supervise staff members.
- Written Communication Skills: Proficiency in reading and writing progress notes for patients, as well as compiling accurate and detailed MAR reports.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is essential for this role.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in healthcare administration or related field.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Level 2 background check
- Knowledge of state regulations governing assisted living facilities.
