Position: Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Orlando Office

Full Time: Yes (In Office) (9:00am-5:30pm)

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 + Full Benefits+ Bonus (Will go higher for the right candidate)

This position will support one partner and two paralegals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing legal and non-legal administrative support to attorneys and paralegals.
  • Filing both physically and electronically.
  • Taking client calls, connecting all incoming calls, and the intake of potential client calls.
  • Handling general correspondence.
  • Administrative functions including but not limited to scanning, assembling binders, etc.
  • Coordinate meetings including videoconferences, conference calls, equipment, and presentation materials.
  • Managing attorneys’ contacts, schedule, and calendar.
  • Processing expense reports and check requests.
  • Submission of vendor invoice and associated follow up.
  • Entering time for attorneys.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and indexing all case files.
  • Finding and retrieving information from files.
  • Handle initial screening for potential clients and scheduling of consults.
  • Responsible for all aspects of client intake including collection of all pertinent information, file opening, engagement documents, etc.
  • Assist with follow up on AR collection.
  • Manage case calendar, including correspondence with court on scheduling.
  • Assist with document retrieval, review, organization, and production.
  • Cite-check and edit/revise legal documents.
  • Maintain and use document, transcript, and work product databases.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparation for meetings, hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Interact with all parties, clients, counsel, and respond to any corresponding inquiries.
  • Prepare and e-file documents at the State level and follow up on all filings.
  • E-filing, file management and management of client meeting spaces.
  • Coordinate and assist with trial preparations, i.e., exhibits, witness binders, and demonstratives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Ability to manage information through various firm databases, including but not limited to MS Teams, Word, Excel, iManage, and other platforms.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two to four years of litigation experience required; Family Law experience in a law firm strongly preferred.
