Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of medical/surgical nursing experience and proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct patient care to medical and surgical patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as needed.
2. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
3. Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures with skill and accuracy.
4. Assist physicians with conscious sedation procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
5. Monitor patient vital signs, assess for changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
6. Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
7. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive patient care.
8. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
9. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff development activities, and continuing education opportunities to enhance nursing practice and professional growth.

Qualifications:

1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State].
2. Minimum of two years of medical/surgical nursing experience required.
3. Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation procedures.
4. BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
