Our growing company is looking to add an additional install team to our company. Past solar experience, construction experience, or roofing experience preferred. We will train the right candidates.

Solar Install Technicians are responsible for the daily installation of rooftop solar systems, which include but are not limited to, feet, rails/racking, optimizers/microinverters, and modules. As a Solar Install Technician, you will be working with a team of other install technicians, a project manager, and electricians to install solar arrays on pitched asphalt shingle roofs, metal roofs, flat EPDM/TPO roofs, and ground mount arrays for customers in areas such as residential, non-profits, small businesses, schools, government facilities, and state parks. As an Install Technician, you will be expected to work outside in the elements on a daily basis. It is important that every employee of NC Solar Now be able to uphold NC Solar Now’s image and values.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license, be insurable through our company auto policy, and have reliable transportation to the office each day.

This is not a remote or temporary position. This position is a full-time permanent position.

NC Solar Now has a standardized pay structure with yearly reviews and opportunities for raises and bonuses.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and communicate weekly/daily schedules.
• Handle staging, layout, and all aspects of array installation.
• Collaborate with our Project Managers, Electricians, and fellow installers.
• Be responsible for personal tools and equipment needed to complete jobs and keep them organized.
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards along with company policies.
• Follow through with instruction and follow directions.
• Be able to work efficiently and think on your feet.

Requirements:

• Be able to work on a pitched, elevated roof surface.
• Be able to work in the elements (Cold/Extreme Heat).
• Understanding of construction procedures and materials.
• Comfortable with ladders and heights.
• Clean driving record, current license, and personal transportation.
• Able to work in challenging and physically demanding environments.
• Flexible and able to adapt to onsite conditions.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others and uphold the team mentality.
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus (Excel, Word, Google Drive, CAD).
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly.

NC Solar Now provides onsite training opportunities aiding in NC electrical licensure, OSHA, and NABCEP certifications as well as product-specific training to help motivated individuals advance their careers and strengthen industry knowledge, fostering internal growth as well as the potential for leadership roles within the company.

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
