How We Work
About the Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution of the project team’s work by creating, tracking, and executing project plans, budgets and timelines to support timely and cost-efficient project goals. This position will work on multiple projects with varying teams. The Project Manager plays a critical role in cultivating and maintaining communication with the internal team, consultants, vendors, education partners and other clients to ensure alignment on eXd principles, project goals/tasks, and milestones. As a member of the Student Achievement Partners team, the Project Manager also contributes actively to organizational learning and towards our goal of becoming an anti-racist and multicultural organization.
The Project Manager contributes to SAP by:
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically designing project scope, goals and approach in partnership with the project lead and clients
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive, detailed project plans, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure feasibility of the plan
- Understanding project status and proactively communicating potential risks to project leads
- Along with support from the project lead and staff researchers, leading the planning and execution of the action research activities in service of the project team’s, our organization’s, and our partners’ ongoing reflection, learning, and accountability for impact
- Understanding project staffing resources and working with leadership to ensure the projects are staffed appropriately
- Working collaboratively with the Finance team to manage the project budget including developing and executing contracts for consultants and invoicing activities for projects
- Plan and manage logistics and operations for in-person and virtual events/meetings as needed (e.g., coordinate the team to prepare agendas and materials for internal and external meetings)
- Leading and facilitating effective communications between the project team and partner organizations, publishers, vendors, districts and clients
- Participating in internally-run Project Management specific collaborative
- Leading the application of Equity Meets Design (eXd) principles and tools consistently and effectively for the design team
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of project management and strong familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices
- Experience with/knowledge of the K-12 education and/or ed tech market preferred
- Experience with gathering requirements and translating those requirements for designers and stakeholders; helping to develop scope using the requirements
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- High level of initiative, critical thinking, sound judgment and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail
- Belief that students’ improved understanding of grade-level content and more joyful, relevant learning experiences can be achieved through equitable design
- Commitment to working in project-based design teams to employ equitable design approaches.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Compensation and Benefits
Student Achievement Partners offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. Additionally, Student Achievement Partners provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes unlimited vacation time, unlimited sick days, professional development funds, medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, and an employer-sponsored 401k retirement plan.
