Job Title: Quality Assurance Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay Rate: $130,000-$175,000

Location: Onsite.

KULR Technology Location: Webster, Texas

Travel: Occasional travel required.

Position Overview:

Under strategic leadership, Quality Assurance Director establishes and enforces assurance policies, programs, processes and initiatives. This role drives quality assurance to ensure materials, parts and products comply with established quality standards and government regulations. The Quality Assurance Director spearheads the deployment and management of the ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications, including audits and continued compliance. This role provides coaching, mentorship and leadership for multiple staff.

Functions:

  • Responsible for planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Directs process and product testing to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with established quality standards and government regulations.
  • Develops and implements quality standards, tools, training, and methods.
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of the production process and quality of resulting products to improve existing modes of operation.
  • Leverages extensive knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations for product quality.
  • Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function.
  • Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives.
  • Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will supervise multiple staff.

Supervisor duties to include:

  1. Screens applications, interviews candidates, and recommends individuals for hiring.
  2. Trains and assigns work to new and continuing employees.
  3. Delegates tasks and provides effective direction to team members to produce substantial business results.
  4. Independently conducts frequent performance feedback weekly, quarterly and annually, to include annual performance evaluations.
  5. Makes recommendations for salary increases, merit increases and reclassifications.
  6. In conjunction with HR, determines corrective action as needed for direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of managerial experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience as individual contributor
  • Strong leadership experience leading teams of at least 5 full-time direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing ISO9001 and AS9100.
  • Lead auditor certification.
  • Preferred
    1. Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
    2. Strong demonstrated experience with Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management (QHSE).
    3. Science, technology or math background preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to assume personal accountability, address limitations, exhibits honesty and respect towards others, the company and oneself.
