Project Manager (Elevator Construction)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are searching for an experienced Elevator Construction Project Manager to support our NY based General Contractor client with the JFK Redevelopment Project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

• Prepares and delivers clear, accurate, effective, and persuasive written and verbal messages
• Ensure that the jobsite meets or exceeds all safety requirements including OSHA, company and project standards
• Ensure that all employees, including subcontractors, are following the safety protocols
• Implement a system of Quality Review on project submittals, work planned and performed
• Develop, maintain and update an overall CPM schedule including review of monthly schedule reports and narratives for submission to the owner
• Review short term schedules (six-week, two-week, daily, etc.) for compliance with overall schedule
• Lead team in the preparation of construction plans, safety procedures, quality work plans, etc.
• Supervise the work of the project team including superintendents, project engineers, field engineers, Safety and Quality Representatives and ensure coordination
• Efficiently maintain a system for all records and files in the Field Office
• Prepare, review, submit and track Requests for Information, Submittals and Correspondence
• Prepare, review, update and report on construction cost reports and labor productivity reports
• Prepare initial DCB and monthly Payment requisitions to the owner
• Identify, prepare and negotiate Change Orders
• Control all material purchases, deliveries, production schedules and long lead-time items
• Supervise the work of subcontractors, including buyouts, submittals, schedules and execution
• Review and approve material and subcontractor invoices
• Have a full understanding of the HCSS Estimate and bid strategy
• Ensure compliance with minority (M/W/DBE, SVDOB, etc.) goals and requirements
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the project team
• Foster a productive and respectful work environment for all employees
• Articulates and inspires team commitment to a plan of action aligned with project goals
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project
• Effectively examines events, issues, and problems, to generates solutions.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to achieving meaningful results

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 10 years of related construction project management experience
• Highly proficient in standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe) and construction orientated project management software programs
• Strong skills in financial management of projects
• Knowledge of CPM scheduling. Primavera P6 scheduling program is a plus.
• Ability to make decisions and work independently.
• Ability to meet critical project milestones.
• Willingness to coordinate and work in a team environment, delegating responsibility while encouraging, challenging and mentoring staff members
• Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering (or equivalent years' experience).
• 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health.
