Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Gathers and maintains data for Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, providing support to outside consultants as needed.
- Oversees cost report preparation by external consultants and conducts initial reviews before leadership review.
- Reviews wage index and recommends adjustments.
- Analyzes proposed changes to cost reports and implements approved changes in work papers and reports.
- Prepares quarterly Medicare/Medicaid cost report settlement estimates and maintains the general reserve binder for the corresponding hospital. Can revise models to reflect regulation changes when necessary.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement preferred.
