Scope of Position


This role will be responsible for being the SME for leveraging Azure and other applications to help build out various analytical models for key leaders to make better real-time decisions as trends change. This role will start with known projects & priorities and ultimately transition into a role where top AI opportunities to leverage and drive actionable insights are derived from a collaborative effort between various stakeholders.


Ideal candidate: This person should have proven experience in the ability of taking high-level OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), breaking each down into specific actionable deliverables determining effort and timeline to achieve each objective while not sacrificing overall integrity towards each OKR. To be successful in this role, they will need to be intellectually curious, constantly questioning the way things are done constructively while thriving on change that improves results as our department is tasked with Continuous Improvement.


Overview of Intelligence Department: The Intelligence Department is tasked with the KSI of Continuous Improvement by leveraging both data and analytical tools to provide actionable insights to key stakeholders and steering the Analytical Strategy of the company. It also plays a critical support role to various other departments, working very closely with Technology, Finance, FP&A collaborating & coordinating where required. It also works cross-functionally with other departments as required such as Store Operations, Donations & Logistics, Marketing, People & Culture, Online, Wholesale, and Asset Management. This department currently consists of two main teams: Data & Analytics


Responsibilities


Big projects in the 1st 12 months:


  • Build automated forecasts with a high level of accuracy to be used by various departments and other analytical solutions in the business that can be and is adjusted easily as critical variable change.
  • Design & Develop scenario models to be used in each planning activity where key leaders can manipulate operational variables impacting each forecast allowing for understanding the cause & effect of each decision where these decisions can be recorded and tracked leading to better decisions in the future.


Qualifications


  • 5+ years of overall experience in an analytical or data role, including 3+ years of experience in data modeling and forecasting across various organizations and/or industries ideally containing a data science certification from a reputable organization.
  • Demonstrated motivation and a good work ethic under minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Statistics and Probability.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and/or R.
  • Proficiency with SQL and working with databases.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and deploying models in production.
  • Experience with large data sets.
  • Experience creating, refining & managing processes end-to-end.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of business acumen.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written format.
